Hi there, I'm Heidi!
I am a proud Marine wife and mother of 3 living near Monterey, CA in a small beautiful coastal town named Pacific Grove.
I've always loved soap since I was a kid, and my soap making adventures began when I took a soap making class in 2000. Wow, what fun, and the possibilities are endless! I was constantly making soaps with my children and soaps for friends and family. Then I decided to try my hand at other bath creations like creams, scrubs, lip balms... I'm still coming up with new ideas! I strive to find the best natural ingredients for my products.
In the Fall of 2007 I decided to start selling my creations. I became HeidisHandmades and got a business license and insurance. I have been selling online at Etsy.com . Etsy has been a wonderful selling venue!
In the season of Halloween 2009 I was feeling a little ghoulish and decided to make some products for a whole new market... witches and zombies! This was when I created The Bubbling Cauldron and had so much fun with making witchy creams, zombie scrubs and Eye of Newt soaps. The play on words in my listings is especially fun! I planned to take them out on the "off-season" but began getting requests for more... so I decided to leave this shop open year round as well.

All of my soaps are made with 100% vegetable oils and butters, such as shea butter, coconut oil, palm oil, castor oil, safflower oil, soy bean... no harsh chemicals like you will find in store brand soaps.
My creams, lotions, and body butters are also made with natural ingredients such as shea butter, sweet almond oil, evening primrose oil and other wonderful natural skin nourishing oils. But they do also contain gentle preservatives... just the right amount to keep invisible bacteria from growing in the products over time.
I also add skin safe colorants and fragrance or essential oils to my products to make them pretty and smelly, my favorite part! I have studied and searched for months, even years, to find the best ingredients to make my products just perfect for you... so be assured that you are using the best!
Some of my products even have a sort of magical power to them, I will let you in on a few little secrets...
Feeling down lately? Anything lavender is what you need. It will completely lift your spirits and lower your stress levels. On a personal note... the scent of lavender helped me get through all of my husband's deployments to Iraq. My Lavender Satin & Silk Hand & Body Cream is especially wonderful!

Feeling stressed? You need my Luxurious Bubble Bath, to soak your worries away. Then apply my moisturizing creams or lotions and you will be all refreshed and rejuvenated, you will wonder what ever happened to those worries!
